Comments on the prizes for attending summer schools
4 prizes for attending summer schools, reserved to SDS regularly enrolled students (3 to first year and 1 to second year students).
Summed up here are the important aspects of the call (which is in italian). the online form is in both languages.
- deadline: march 24th (online form + attachments only, no paperwork)
- 4 prizes of 750€ each, before taxes (about 25%)
- selection based on merit, evaluated as follows:
* 10 points maximum to the statement of purpose/motivation letter (1 page max)
* 90 points maximum to the exams transcript, whose fraction is computed as
( 0.2*credits completed + 0.8 GPA )/( 0.2*credits expected + 0.8 * 30 )
which should balance between having completed more exams and having completed less exams with high grades.
- the prize is intended as a reimbursement upon providing proof of the expenses sustained for attending the summer school (registration, accommodation, travel to the site and back)
- two summer schools are pre-approved

alternatives of your choice must be explicilty approved by the executive committee (in that case just send me an email with a request).
note that these schools have an admission process. the first should be easier to enter. the second school should be at a more advanced level of teaching, so suggested for second year students, and it also lasts longer. other than these indications, the choice remain yours once you get the award.
